The Beauty + Wellness Scholarship for Women

We're awarding $4,000/year in college scholarships to support the health of college women,  each quarter we award $1,000 + a care package filled with healthy organic goodies to young women who are striving to maintain their health and wellness as they pursue their higher education goals. 

Here is a brief summary of the eligibility requirements:

  • Award: $1,000
  • Quarterly Deadlines:January 1, March 31st, June 30th, and September 30th every year
  • Eligibility:

        + Must be a graduating high school senior, current college undergraduate, or current graduate student at a 4-year, 2-year, vocational, or technical school in the United States.

        + Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

        + Must identify as female.

        + We welcome all majors and GPAs to apply!

 Back to the Bricks Scholarship

  1. Scholarships will be granted to high school seniors seeking a career in the
    automotive field but not exclusively, i.e., in auto-body repair/painting, automotive
    design, auto mechanics, electrical/manufacturing/mechanical engineering,
    robotics, sales and marketing, software development for automotive applications,
    welding, or a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math)
    related career.
  2.  All applications must be towards attending a post-secondary accredited school.
  3.  Preference is given to applicants attending a local college, university, technical
    school or institution, but not required.
  4.  Students already enrolled into a post-secondary program may apply but must be in
    good academic standing with the school they are currently enrolled in.
  5. All applicants shall include an essay from 200-500 words on why they should be
    granted a scholarship. We encourage each applicant to include a personal
    accounting as to how the automotive industry or hobby has impacted their lives.
  6. Scholarships will be on a ‘one-time’ basis.
  7.  Include at least one letter of recommendation with your application.
  8. Each application shall include a transcript of grades (11th and 12th grades for high
    school applicants and for those already enrolled into a post-secondary school a
    current transcript of their grades).
  9. The scholarship may be used for tuition and fees.

American Association of Blacks in Energy Scholarship

The American Association of Blacks in Energy is a professional association composed of African Americans in the energy industry. Through its Scholarship Program, the Association seeks to help increase the number of African Americans, Hispanics and Native Americans (underrepresented minorities) in energy related fields. By doing so, we help our nation address a critical need and a challenge to our future economic vitality in the world market. 

To be eligible for a new scholarship, all four (4) of the following requirements must be met: 1. The student must have an unweighted academic average of “B” or better (3.0 on a 4.0 scale). 2. The student must be a graduating high school senior who intends to enroll the next semester following high school graduation in an accredited college or university. 3. The student must plan to major in business, one of the physical sciences, technology, engineering or mathematic fields in preparation for a career in the energy sector. 4. The student must be one of the historically underrepresented minorities in the sciences, technology, engineering and math related disciplines. (African American, Hispanic or Native American)

Selection Scholarship recipients - known as AABE Scholars - are determined each spring by the organization’s local chapter scholarship committee for local scholarships and by the National Scholarship Committee for national scholarships. Recipients will receive notification of their selection.  The Michigan Chapter of AABE will award multiple scholarships. The top candidates from each chapter are sent to compete for a $3,000 Regional and a $5,000 National Award. The “Rufus D. Gladney” Premier Award of $5,000 is given annually for a maximum of four years to the candidate who is judged to demonstrate the most outstanding achievement and promise

 David's Faith & Hope for Life Foundation Scholarship

The David Barns Scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior that best represents David’s athletic prowess, academic excellence, and commitment to the community. The scholarship will provide $2,500 of financial assistance for college tuition. Additionally, the scholarship is eligible for renewal for three years, assuming good academic standing, continued community involvement, and a service commitment to the Foundation.  Albert Flegenheimer Memorial and Next Generation Scholarship

Applicants must have participated in the Michigan Sugar Youth Sugarbeet program at one time and have completed a sugarbeet project. Applicants must be a high school senior graduating in 2018 or a college freshman of the same year. The winner of the Albert Flegenheimer Memorial Scholarship will receive $2,500. The runner-up will be awarded the Next Generation Scholarship of $1,000. Pick up an application in Guidance Office.

William G. Coyne Memorial Scholarship

Credit Union One is offering a $2,000 scholarship and eight $1,000 scholarships. In order to be eligible you must:

*Complete 30 or more hours of documented, qualified community service during Junior/Senior years of high school ending April 1, 2018

*Be a 2018 graduating high school senior

*Be a member of a family that has belonged to Credit Union ONE of Michigan for a minimum of six months (in good standing)

*Have a cumulative high school grade point average of 3.0 or above

* Plan to enroll in, beginning in the fall of 2018, a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two or four-year college or university, or accredited trade or vocational school. Employees of Credit Union ONE of Michigan and their immediate family are ineligible to receive a scholarship.

Michigan Retailers Association Scholarship

Redefining Ready! Scholarship 

As part of the Redefining Ready! movement, AASA is partnering with Hobsons to offer the 2018 Redefining Ready! National Scholarship. The scholarship contest allows America's graduating high school seniors the opportunity to tell the world how they are college, career and life ready. 

Sixteen scholarships will be awarded to high school graduating seniors, including a grand prize of $5,000. Winners will be based on a 30-second video entry and a short essay (under 250 words) on readiness. Creativity counts, but so does honest, authentic and compelling content.

CGStudio, a leading online marketplace for 3D models, has established a scholarship program to help support talented students with an interest in the 3D industry. The topic for our first scholarship is:

“Influential and Inspirational Digital Artists” 

Digital art and computer graphics have revolutionized how we interact with the world, from our entertainment to our education and many points in between. We want to hear about how a digital art creator has influenced you. Write an essay about an animator, video game designer, or other person in the digital art field whom you admire. Explain why you admire them and/or how their accomplishments shaped their industry. We want to hear from the future artists (or fans) of our industry - let us know who has positively influenced your life.

Terms & Conditions

  • Eligibility – Employees of CGStudio, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and suppliers, (collectively the “Employees”), and immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of Employees are not eligible to apply for the Scholarship. Winner will be required to provide proof of enrollment status and GPA upon selection.
  • Selection of Winner – the applicants will be reviewed and a winner will be selected by representatives of CGStudio. Judging will be based on originality, quality of writing, and impact of the essay on our judges. CGStudio reserves the right to share the content and information of the winning submission and applicant.
  • Payout of Scholarship – CGStudio will pay the 1st place winner $1,500 and 2nd place winner $1,000 directly to the accredited educational institution they will be attending. MCPA Scholarship

A senior who is eligible for graduation and is currently enrolled in a work-based learning experience (Co-op and Unpaid Learner) is eligible to apply for this scholarship. 2 $1,000 scholarships will be awarded. A resume, references, transcript, current schedule, letter of recommendation, and photo release will be required.

AAA Michigan's School Safety Patrol Scholarship Program

Scholarships of $1,000 will be awarded to four graduating seniors attending a Michigan public, private, or charter high school. Students must show documented proof of AAA Michigan School Safety Patrol participation in elementary or middle school, good academic standing and a strong record of involvement in the community and/or extra curricular activities.  A personal letter of introduction must be included describing community and extra-curricular activities and what being a Safety Patroller meant to them also two letters of recommendation (1 from school official and 1 from community representative). Pick up an application in Guidance Office. Student applications and letter of introduction are due to Mrs. Lord in the Guidance Office by the Deadline date.  Applicants will be screened by a selection committee at Flushing High School and only one applicant will be recommended for this scholarship from Flushing High School to AAA Michigan.

Michigan Sugar Queen Scholarship

The Michigan Sugar Queen Scholarship offers one $2,000 scholarship and two $1,000 scholarships to three top candidates. The scholarships are offered on a competitive basis to females at least 18 years old (by end of June, 2017) and not older than 23 (during her reign), who has maintained an overall 3.0 grade point average for the past four years and will be continuing her studies at an accredited college in the state of Michigan.

Candidates must submit a completed application form, a current picture and two written recommendations. Recommendations could be from teachers, counselors, pastor, employer or other respected business officials. Applicants must be a resident of a county where sugarbeets are grown; Arenac, Bay, Clinton, Genesee, Gladwin, Gratiot, Huron, Ionia, Iosco, Isabella, Lapeer, Midland, Montcalm, Ogemaw, Saginaw, Sanilac, Shiawassee, St. Clair and Tuscola.

UEW Healthcare EEOICPA Scholarship

UEW Healthcare is pleased to offer the UEW Healthcare EEOICPA Scholarship. The Scholarship is open nationwide to those who will be attending college fall semester of 2018. Special consideration will be give to an undergraduate who is interested in pursuing a career in Home Healthcare and knows someone that worked in the nuclear industry and was subsequently approved for benefits under the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program (EEOICPA), but anyone meeting the requirements & can demonstrate an interested in pursuing a career in Healthcare will be considered.

This Award will be presented to current college students, but high school seniors who will be attending school in the fall semester of 2018 are also welcome to apply.

The award will be presented to a college student who is enrolled by the fall semester of 2018, but will not have graduated by fall semester of 2018 & is still attending courses at this time. This will be a one-time award.

The Scholarship will be judged on merit and need. Academic achievements as well as any leadership experiences will be taken in to account.

Aspiring Nurse Scholarship

Kelsey’s Law Distracted Driving Awareness Scholarship

We are proud to share the second annual Kelsey’s Law Distracted Driving Awareness Scholarship for Michigan high school juniors and seniors.   You may be familiar with Kelsey's Law, which prohibits the use of cell phones for Level 1 and 2 drivers in the state. Our law firm teamed up with Kelsey's mother, Bonnie Raffaele, to honor Kelsey, inspire change in teens who drive distracted and help prevent car accidents.   

A total of $5,000 in college scholarships will be awarded in October among 4 winning student submissions throughout the state. High school juniors and seniors are eligible.

 The Circle Michigan Foundation

Student qualifications consist of the student having a minimum 2.5 GPA.  The student needs to be pursuing an undergraduate, graduate, associate or vocational degree in tourism or hospitality.  They need to have part or full-time enrollment at a Michigan college or university that has a tourism/hospitality program and be a Michigan resident.  The student needs to demonstrate their career goals in an essay; have overall involvement in work, school, and community activities; demonstrated leadership ability; letters of recommendation; and financial need. You can apply at:

Horatio Alger Michigan Scholarship

This scholarship awards (15) $7,000 scholarships. The Horatio Alger Scholarships is funded on behalf of the Walter & Suzanne Scott Foundation. Students must be a full-time high school senior in Michigan, will graduate in 2018, have a strong commitment to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the United States (students may start their studies at a two-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution), demonstrate critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required), be involved in co-curricular and community service activities, display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity and maintain a GPA of 2.0. MHSAA-Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete Award

Eligibility requirements are that the student is enrolled and participating in interscholastic athletics at an MHSAA member school, they must be a senior, must have previously won a varsity letter prior to senior year and have a 3.5 GPA or higher. Rare Foundation Scholarship

The RARE “Everyday Hero” Scholarship is for high school seniors planning to attend a Michigan college, university or post secondary school after graduating. The purpose is to engage young people in identifying everyday heroes throughout our state and through the process of discovery and writing, to become inspired about life’s possibilities. Winning students will receive a $2,500 scholarship toward tuition and honored at our annual Night of Heroes Dinner. The Michigan Council of Women in Technology Foundation Scholarships 

MCWT Foundation is offering scholarship opportunities for technology-focused high school seniors, GET-IT club high school seniors and women who will be enrolled full time in college-level courses for the 2018-2019 academic year at a Michigan university.

An applicant must be a female high-school student or currently enrolled college/university level student who is: 

  • A resident of the state of Michigan

America's Farmers Grow AG Leaders

America’s Farmers Grow Ag Leaders, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund, is giving students pursuing ag-related degrees the chance to earn a $1,500 college scholarship. Grow Ag Leaders scholarships are administered by the National FFA Organization as part of the National FFA Scholarship Program.

  • Eligibility for America’s Farmers Grow Ag Leaders scholarships:

Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship

Through its Mentoring and Leadership Development Program, the Jackie Robinson Foundation provides scholarships of up to $30,000 over four years to minority high school students showing leadership potential and demonstrating financial need to attend an accredited 4-year college or university of their choice.

To be eligible for a Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship, an applicant must:

  • Be a graduating high school senior;
  • Plan to attend an accredited and approved four-year institution within the United States;
  • Show leadership potential;
  • Demonstrate a dedication to community service;
  • Present evidence of financial need;
  • Be a United States citizen;
  • Have a minimum SAT score of 1,000 combined on the math and critical reading sections or a composite ACT score of 21;
  • Not possess a degree from a 2 or 4–year College when applying for the scholarship.

The National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa Inc. AnnualScholarship Award

This scholarship is intended for those pursuing a career inthe field of education. It is a $6,000.00 scholarship being awarded to one male and one
female in the mid-west region.

The Applicants shall:

  • Be a male or female who plans to enter college for training in the field of education
  • Complete the Undergraduate Scholarship

MIAAA Scholarships

 The MIAAA is offering six $1,000 scholarships again this year to graduating senior student-athletes.

Each high school in Michigan may select one male and one female student-athlete.  The school’s Athletic Director must be a member of the MIAAA in order to nominate student-athletes and to be considered for the scholarships.

  • Student-athletes must meet the following criteria to be nominated:

o    A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 on a 4.0 scale

o    One Letter of Support from a school staff member

o    Must have earned a Varsity Letter in at least two different sports during their high school career

o    Complete application with approval signatures from Athletic Director and Principal

o    Application must be typed

Jackie Robinson Scholarship

To be eligible for a Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship, an applicant must:

  • Be a graduating high school senior;
  • Plan to attend an accredited and approved four-year institution within the United States;
  • Show leadership potential;
  • Demonstrate a dedication to community service;
  • Present evidence of financial need;
  • Be a United States citizen;
  • Have a minimum SAT score of 1,000 combined on the math and critical reading sections or a composite ACT score of 21;
  • Not possess a degree from a 2 or 4–year College when applying for the scholarship.

The required components of the Jackie Robinson Foundation application are:

  • The online application, which includes four essay questions;
  • A professional, hi-resolution digital photo (headshots only, in a JPEG format) – you may submit a high school senior graduation photo;

Michigan Engineering Scholarship

MSPE recognizes that an engineering education is the foundation upon which the engineering profession is constructed, and that there is a need for encouragement and financial aid for students pursuing an engineering degree.  To support this need, MSPE has established a scholarship program to aid resident graduating high school seniors in Michigan who have proven a genuine interest in an engineering career, and have chosen to pursue their engineering degree at an ABET-accredited college or university in Michigan.

Graduating high school seniors who are assisted by this scholarship program will be those whose academic records and personal qualifications indicate most clearly that they merit the highest consideration by the MSPE Scholarship Committee. It is our hope that these scholarships will be of significant value to the promising young citizens and the engineering profession in the students' first year of college, and introduce them to the value of membership in MSPE/NSPE. The eligibility criteria is a student that is a dependent of MEA member in good standing or a retired member, a graduate of a Michigan public high school or private high school that has a bargaining unit, the student will attend a Michigan public college, university, or vocational training institution, or the private institutes excepted are Baker College, University of Detroit Mercy, Davenport University Eastern Region Campus, Adrian College, Finlandia University, Albion College and Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University.  Priority status is given on the basis of:  Academic achievement, extra-curricular activities, school and community service, and students from lower income households.   Apply at

Michigan Technological University School of Technology Scholarship

Four-year scholarships are available to first-year students and two-year scholarships for transfer students from community colleges (in Michigan and neighboring states) through a $1 million grant from the National Science Foundation. The five-year Engineering Technology Scholars – IMProving Retention and Student Success (ETS-IMPRESS) project provides financial support and an ecosystem of high-impact curricular and co-curricular activities to increase the success of academically talented students. Over the course of five years, this grant will fund 12 students starting in their first year and 36 transfer students. Each scholarship amounts to $4,500 per funded year. Acceptance to the ETS-IMPRESS program includes admission to the Pavlis Honors College at Michigan Technological University, an innovative and inclusive honors program designed around high-impact educational practices.

Detroit Section of the Society of Women Engineers Scholarship 

The Detroit Section of the Society of Women Engineers annually recognizes high school women who have shown exemplary abilities in areas such as leadership, academics, and community activities. 


  1. Females in their senior year at a Michigan high school.
  2. Accepted into a university or college for the fall term following graduation.
  3. Pursuing an engineering degree program that is ABET-accredited.

Rosa Parks Scholarship Foundation

Scholarships to be applied to tuition, books and/or fees, for first year of college only (cannot be applied to room/board or other expenses).


1.   Graduate by August 2018.
2.   Have GPA of 2.5 or above.
3.   Describe financial need.

5.   Document community activities.
6.   Furnish official copies of high school transcript and ACT or SAT results.
